Work without an internet connection!

Yesterday morning our internet server went down at the hospital...OMG! Roper prides itself on having electronic records and crap but I'll tell you what! It's a pain when the connection goes "poof"

I think AT&T in both North and South Carolina had some kind of issue and we had no service yesterday and today was catch up. Everything we do is internet based, if a terrorist wants to screw with us, give them a few years and they would have us by the throats.

Yes, we still have backup paper records for most things but in the lab we order all of our tests and send results over the net. The program is CITRIX and it's totally going online in April. A doctor's office can pull up results if he's connected, yesterday and today the phone calls were unbelievable. I'm tired. Had to order all of yesterday's work and got that caught up just as today's started...I'm too old for this!

citrix is good, and way safer.....JMHO.

I've worked with Citrix before. It was weird getting used to it but once I did, it was fairly easy.

Today we have a WORM, Conficker be its name and I'm not supposed to be on the net.

If they fire me will I get unemployment benefits?

I didn't think so.

Well, we aren't there yet, but you just never know. However, if he works full time for about 6 months or so, and then loses his job, if he quits or gets fired, he should be able to get unemployment. There is always hope.
